This is an abstract interpretation of the five research areas the university focuses on to discover new solutions for the most significant global issues.
Our biggest challenge was to bring our artistic vision into the world of academia.
This project was created for the University of Birmingham's research department. Our animation and its elements were part of the large marketing campaign for the university, overseen by Mammoth Agency.
Our work essentially served as the visual identity for the campaign.
This project involved an advanced research phase, fitting for the complexity of the research topics. Our task was to present an abstract interpretation of the five key research areas that the university focuses on: Fairer World, Life Changing Technology, Connecting Cultures, Thriving Planet, and Global Health.
Before we began the creative process, we met with scientists from each research area to learn about their work and the problems they address. This helped us develop digital art with abstract metaphors that accurately depicted these global issues.
One of the main challenges was ensuring that each symbol was unique while also creating a cohesive composition. This unified design was intended for the main banners of the campaign and was displayed in public spaces in London
